Jersey City’s All Points West Music Festival has navigated a world of music and come up with headliner heaven. New York City’s own Beastie Boys will close out the first night of the 3-day event, which happens July 31, August 1, and August 2. Liberty State Park again hosts the festival, and it provides a panoramic view of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty, against which headliners and dozens more bands will present their shows. Tool will headline Saturday night and Coldplay will wrap the festivities up on Sunday.
The formidable headlining trio represents one of the biggest bangs in the brief history of he event. Feelings are mixed among fans when it comes to the important supporting cast, which is solid but not amazing. It most notably includes My Bloody Valentine among always-welcome bands like Ghostland Observatory The Black Keys, and MSTRKRFT, along with a good deal of hip-hop. The complete lineup can be seen below, and you can check out the festival website for more info. The organizers promise improved transportation options, more accommodating beer gardens, and a layaway plan for tickets.
